DAY 1 Arrival – Chiang Mai
Arrived in Chiang Mai, you will be picked up by the driver and driven to the hotel. Free time to enjoy the rest of the day.
DAY 2 Chiang Mai – Doi Suthep – Temples
Breakfast at Hotel. After the breakfast you will be picked up by our guide and driver to visit the temple of Doi Suthep, located in the mountain, from where we can enjoy beautiful views of Chiang Mai.
After the visit to the Doi Suthep temple we will enter the old part of the city through its walls to visit two of its most famous temples: the Wat Phra Singh temple whose construction dates from 1345 and where we find a Buddha image of more than 1500 years old, and the Wat Chedi Luang, built at the same time but following a different architecture. It is believed to be the first temple that housed the famous Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) that we find today in the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
In the evening we will have a dinner of traditional northern dishes, accompanied by a traditional Khantoke show with dances from the ancient Kingdom of Lanna. After dinner, transfer to the hotel at the famous night market of the city. Accomodation.
DAY 3 Chiang Mai – Giraffe women – Chiang Rai
Breakfast at Hotel. Later you will be picked up by our guide and driver and transfer to the elephant camp, located in the middle of the jungle, to see how agile these great creatures are to carry out the work of the field. After this small exhibition we will begin our elephant back safari, then we will continue to visit tribes of different ethnic groups of the country, among which the striking Mae Hong Son original Long Neck women stand out.
We will have lunch. After we will visit the orchid plantations enjoying the incomparable beauty of this beautiful floral species.
After this morning of activities, departure in the direction of Chiang Rai and once arrival in Chiang Rai transfer to the hotel for accommodation.
DAY 4 Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle – Chiang Mai
After your Breakfast, departure to the famous “Golden Triangle”, visiting on the way the Akkha village with its colorful costumes and the picturesque tea plantations of the surroundings.
From there we will go to Chiang Saen where the very “Golden Triangle” is located, so called because it is on the same point the border between Thailand, Burma and Laos, bordered by the three by the Mekong River, of great scenic beauty and famous for the opium trade. Visit of the “Opium Museum” and then exit to Mae Sai, a border town with Burma where we will find a curious market of Burmese products and witness the continuous hustle and bustle of goods and people in this border post.
Return to Chiang Rai and accommodation.
DAY 5 Chiang Mai – Departure
Breakfast at your Hotel. At the indicated time transfer to Chiangmai Airport to take the flight of departure.
